Pope Francis will arrive in Dublin on Saturday, 25th of August, and will take part in the ‘Festival of Families’ in Croke Park stadium which will feature personal stories of faith shared by families, each representing the five continents. This is an event organised by the World Meeting of Families 2018.
On Sunday 26 August, he will visit Knock and preside at Holy Mass in the Phoenix Park which will close the five day event.
The WMOF had previously advised that the tickets would be free to see the Pope in Croke Park but the tickets are almost sold out so if you want to attend Croke Park there are currently only 3 possible ways of doing it and as capacity is almost full you may find you cannot get tickets all! However you will get tickets to the Phoenix Park Closing Mass and these are free.
1) Book for the full Congress & receive free ticket for Festival of Families
Booking a three-day registration to the WMOF2018 Pastoral Congress in the RDS gives the possibility, at the same time, to book a free ticket to the Final Mass and for the Festival of Families in Croke park at time of registration the cost however for this full five day event is EUR68 per adult with family options available. https://www.worldmeeting2018.ie/en/Tickets/Congress-Registration
2) Through each Diocese in Ireland
A limited allocation of tickets to the Festival of Families on Saturday 25th August 2018 will be made available through each diocese in Ireland for a family group from each parish to be able to be present at the event. This will be managed at a diocesan level directly. You would need to contact the Armagh Diocese to get tickets in this very limited way.
3) Through organisations working with marginalised families
Following Pope Francis’ encouragement to reach out to those who may be suffering in our society, a number of tickets will be allocated to organisations that work to support families experiencing challenges such as homelessness, addictions, displacement (refugees), among others.
The tickets for the Mass IN THE PHOENIX PARK on Sunday 26th are free but not on general release until the 25th of June and must be booked through the website itself for every adult and child so be sure to log on that day if you wish to attend. https://www.worldmeeting2018.ie/en/Tickets/Closing-Mass-ticket-only
